-SENATE APPROVES BUDGET BILL: Both houses of Congress have now passed a bill cutting $38 billion from the budget. It now goes to President Obama's desk.
-AIR CONTROL OFFICIAL RESIGNS: The head of U.S. air-traffic control operations has resigned amid several traffic controllers falling asleep on the job.

WEDNESDAY: OBAMA REVEALS DEFICIT REDUCTION PLAN

-U.S. President Barack Obama called for reducing the federal deficit by $4 trillion over 12 years.
-EGYPTIAN OFFICIALS DETAIN FORMER PRESIDENT: Former Egyptian President Honsni Mubarak and his two sons were detained in Egypt in an investigation into the deaths of protesters during this year's uprising.
-BONDS FOUND GUILTY: Former star slugger Barry Bondswas found guilty on obstruction of justice; other charges in the steroids case waged against him.

TUESDAY'S NEWS:
-LIBERALS/OBAMA DEBATE FIX TO DEBT CRISIS: U.S. President Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats are at odds over ways to lower the federal debt.
